Baker

(Cake + Prep Kitchen)

Location: Fortrose, Black Isle

Job type: Part Time

(Approximately 24-32 hours over 3-4 days including weekends)

Salary: Dependant on experience

The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Baker to join our team. You’ll focus mainly on cake production, with some savoury and sandwich preparation, while also learning the full range of skills needed in a small bakery.

Because we are a small business you will be trained and expected to help across all areas. This includes:

• Making and finishing cakes and other sweet products

• Savoury baking and sandwich/prep work

• Learning sourdough and viennoiserie techniques

• Supporting the team with production, cleaning and general bakery duties

• Serving customers and gaining barista skills

• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, quality and presentation

Full hands-on training will be provided. There is potential to work towards a formal qualifications through NFDT (National Food and Drink Training).

Hours & Shift Pattern

Initial hours of 24-32 per week, with scope to expand as the business grows and as your skills develop.

Current shift pattern: 3-4 days including weekends, (early starts).

You must be able to reliably get to the bakery early on days working. Exact times and rota details will be confirmed.

· Please note public transport in this area is limited so ability to get to Fortrose in line with shifts is essential.

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine interest in baking and learning new skills

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a positive attitude

• Willingness to get involved in all aspects of a small bakery (production, front of house and cleaning)

• Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting as required

• No previous experience necessary – training will be given

• Must be motivated and able to work independently

Front of House Assistant

(Part Time - Weekend)

Job type: Part Time - Weekend

(Approximately 4-8 hours - Saturday or Sunday)

Salary: Dependant on experience

The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join our weekend front of house team at Bakhoos. As one of the first points of contact for our customers you will serve and handle orders, manage the till, maintain stock replenishment and make coffee.

Duties include:

• Serving customers and dealing with enquiries

• Cash and till handling

• Making coffee to a high standard (full training provided)

• Supporting the team with cleaning and general bakery duties

• Keeping the counter stocked and aesthetic

Full hands-on training will be provided

Hours & Shift Pattern

Initial hours of 4-8 hours per week, with scope to for overtime.

Current shift pattern: Saturday or Sunday starting at 8am.

Exact finish times and rota details will be confirmed.
